- (1968- )After reading English at the University College of North Wales, she did doctoral research at Birkbeck College on poetry by women writers. She now lives in Liverpool and lectures in literature at Liverpool University. The author of a monograph on the work of Carol Anne Duffy (1998), she was listed as one of the Poetry Book's "New Generation" poets in 2004. Her works include The Memory Tray, 1994, short listed for a Forward Prize in 1995 and winner of an Arts Council Writer's Award in 1996; Signs Around a Dead Body, 1999, Poetry Book Society Special Commendation; and Quiver, 2004, a book-length murder-mystery. She has also written: Consorting with Angels: Essays on Modern Women Poets, Bloodaxe Books (2005). Modern Women Poets (editor) Bloodaxe Books (2005).
